09.10.09

There is much to be said about this beautiful day! However, I shall just narrow it down to two specifics that mean the most to me.

#1. Some of you may know my sister Janay and her husband Tim, who have struggled with the unfortunate trial of infertility. Since they found out many years ago, they have been down several paths with adoption agencies and most recently a fostering to adopt program. Their first little girl that came into their home made her appearance shortly after Noah was born. In December of 2007 we met her and almost immediately fell in love! Noah and her are trouble makers and really the best of friends, like all cousins should be. He's grown up knowing her in his life and I had always wondered and worried how I would approach the subject of her absence if she was for some reason given back to her birth mother. At one point she was taken but after a long couple of weeks she was returned to the loving arms of Janay and the rest of our family. That was a good day. Today is even better! Almost two years after she came into our lives we were given the EXCELLENT news that she will be able to stay with Janay and Tim on a permanent basis until arrangements can be made for them to start the adoption process!! It's hard to imagine how this is making my sister feel. Knowing she is finally going to be able to have that wonderful child as her very own! Knowing that a full life of motherhood is ahead of her! Knowing for a surety that she will be able to watch Lulubean grow up into a beautiful young woman, date, eventually get married (yikes!) and experience all those wonderful ups and downs that being a mother brings! Congratulations to the Stanford family on the best news your family could get!! When things are more permanent we will finally be able to post pictures of the sweet little thing so everyone can get to know her just a little bit better :) Exciting times ahead all!

#2. Last, but certainly NOT least. Exactly two months from today my brother Wes, his wife Amanda and their 5 billion kids, alright alright FOUR.. four kids will arrive from their long journey from Australia and stay for over a month! Just in time to meet Janay's little girl, Noah and baby Caballero all for the first time! It's been a loooooong 5 years you guys! We are all so excited we can barely stand it! Safe travels and we'll see you shortly :)

I have so much love for everyone today! How appropriate in view of the Holiday weekend. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Our family has MUCH to be grateful for :)
